The Meliora Challenge is unprecedented in the life of the University of
Rochester. The Campaign, with a goal of $1.2 billion, is furthering our
eforts to educate tomorrow’s leaders and help solve some of society’s
greatest challenges.
To help achieve these aspirations, the Simon School launched a transformative
$85 million campaign. Within our campaign, we have made our faculty a top priority.
We seek fnancial resources totaling $30 million in direct faculty support—much of that
to establish professorships that will count toward The Meliora Challenge goal of 80 new
endowed professorships by June 30, 2016, the end of the Campaign.
The following profles demonstrate vision through leadership and philanthropy and
excellence in scholarship and education. The professors and benefactors on these
pages, through their talent or generosity, contribute immensely to our core strengths in
economics, entrepreneurship, and the analytical approach to solving problems.
Endowed support is essential because it will continue long after the close of our
campaign. The funding that establishes endowed professorships creates a lasting
foundation for the future of the Simon School and the pillars of the University’s mission:
