Parents are making a tangible impact on students’
education and the University landscape with gifts
of all sizes. You can help make the University of
Rochester experience “ever better” by supporting: Julia Sklar ’14 and Carol Sklar P’14


• A faculty member’s research. University Moms Know Best

• One of the University’s many scholarship funds.

• The department in which your student is majoring. Carol Sklar is thinking about the “little
things” when she makes her small annual
• The Parents Fund, an unrestricted fund for the dean gift to the University’s Parents Fund—things
to use to support a number of student initiatives. like new blinds for a film studies room. Carol

Carol now shares her enthusiasm for the
University with students and their parents at
college fairs and in other interview settings.

“Rochester was the type of school that I wish
I had gone to. The possibilities are almost
limitless, if you’re willing to put yourself
out there.”

Julia’s scholarships have enabled her to
enrich her education through involvement
in several University groups and writing for

numerous school publications. Grateful for
the assistance Julia has received, Carol does
what she can to pay it forward.

“I know that I can’t repay all that we have
been given, but I don’t believe in only taking,”
Carol says. “You should try to give back too.”
