Strength in Numbers

Peter and Marion Ting have given their father, Windsor, a
front row seat to the growth of the University. To ensure

it continues, Windsor advocates for parents to help in any
way they can. “Small groups are able to make a difference,”
said Windsor. “When lots of people contribute, that’s
when you see tremendous change.” Windsor’s gifts are
investments he makes with one goal in mind: make the
University a place where his children and those of others
receive the best education possible.

Home away from home

There are a couple of different ways to look at your child
leaving home for college. One places emphasis on the
“leaving” and the other tends to focus on the “home.” For
Susan and Kenneth Weiller, they knew that their son, Sam
had found a new home when they first visited the University

of Rochester.

And they have watched Sam make the most of his home
away from home—studying both music and science;
conducting research as an undergraduate; directing musical
groups; enjoying free music lessons; and establishing

Sam Weiller ’13 with Susan P’13 and relationships with friends and faculty that will last far
Kenneth Weiller P’13 into the future.

“We saw an opportunity to give back to a school that has
given Sam such a great experience. We’re always happy
to support things that are life-changing for people. And
we believe there’s no better investment than education,
whether it’s for our own children or those of others.”
