Athletic endowment at the University of

Rochester provides ongoing fnancial resources

for our coaches and their programs. Giving

to these funds is a commitment that supports

varsity sports in perpetuity.

The ability to ofer prospective coaches an endowed position is a powerful

recruiting and retention tool. In addition to being a prestigious honor, an
endowed coaching position may help fund a salary, expenses associated with
recruiting athletes, and other areas of need. This enables previously designated
unrestricted funds to be used to enhance the coachs program.

A program endowment is established to meet specifc needs of a varsity sport.
Endowed funds ensure the availability of critical operating expenses such as
equipment, recruiting eforts, team and travel expenses, and preparation

including photographic and editing equipment.

Establishing an endowment honors and preserves the legacy of the person for
whom the position is named. Endowments can be named to honor a revered
coach or program, a family member, or anyone the benefactor wishes to
recognize, including oneself.

Gifts to endowed funds provide invaluable and long-lasting support that
ensures perennial success and creates an enduring link between the donor and
excellence in Rochester Athletics.
